For Eric, the tunnel symobolizes the mad and useless rush of progress that denies the spiritual dimension of human destiny. Their little group begins to fall apart, undermined by incessant quarrels that muddle feelings and politics. But rebirth follows after a fall. Will failure leave a place for different points of view, love and peace?
